Nograles refused all the allegations narrated by the witness who appeared at the Senate hearing today. The credibility of the man who linked President Duterte to the alleged extrajudicial killings in Davao city is now being doubted by several Senators.
After the alleged former member of Davao Death Squad(DDS) "Edgar Matobato" testified at the Senate claiming that he was part of the abduction and assassination of four bodyguards of Prospero Nograles in 2010, the son of the ex-House Speaker vehemently denied the accusations through a post on Facebook which is also the same exact statement shared to all local news outlets.
Congressman Karlo Nograles firmly said in an interview, "I don't know what this guy is talking about."
In addition, the younger Nograles narrated a detailed response to the testimony of Matobato this afternoon at the Senate hearing on extrajudicial killings and summary executions.
From the time I was chief-of-staff to the time I was elected as congressman, no supporter of ours or persons under our employ was ever killed due to politics. Political differences in our city has always been strictly on the level of difference in policy and style; it has never degraded into the level of physical or violent.
That is why it is easy for us to set aside our differences and unite for the common good of Davao and the nation. I can only suspect that this guy is being manipulated by some people to only serve their own selfish interests.
In the report of GMA news, Nograles was also quoted saying that up until now all of his bodyguards are alive. Watch the video for more details of this story.
